The Australian bush is brutal, fire can come from any direction and you need to be ready for it. EmberAttack is one part of a larger solution to protect your home in a program of maintenance and prevention creating a waterfall from your gutters.
It's a simple process to install your EmberAttack kit and this is why it's such a powerful defense during ember attack. During peak fire periods and when water supply is available, the cascading 'waterfall' around your home's perimeter provides maximum protection. The Watergate valve blocks your downpipes in seconds, flooding your gutters until they overflow. This creates a continuous water curtain that extinguishes embers before they can ignite your eaves, one of the most vulnerable points bushfires typically take hold. Use this mode whenever you have access to water supply for the most comprehensive ember protection.
To install EmberAttack cut a 100mm section into your down pipe to install EmberAttack with the Watergate valve at a manageable height approximately 1200mm off the ground.
Please note please positioning the connectors above the Watergate Valve
Once EmberAttack is installed into the downpipes make sure all joins are water proof using suitable pipe adhesives and silicone adhesives.
To create the Waterfall effect which back fills your gutters:-
Delivery Australia wide will usually occur within 1 to 4 days.
Your house roof works in segments. EmberAttack is designed to be fitted to every down pipe on your house.
The Sprinkler system is more suitable where you do not have a permanent water supply and you are on tank water.
EmberAttack Waterfall is the basic option providing protection to your gutters and around your house from EmberAttack.
Your house roof is broken into segments. If your house is an A-Frame style house you will have a gutter on each side of the “A”. Th Gutter on one side may have 2 down pipes and on the other 1 = therefore you will need 3 but only use 2. You will use 2 EmberAttack systems on each side. The side that has 2 downpipes we will block off when needed but we will only run the Waterfall or Sprinkler System on a down pipe on each side otherwise we will get uneven flow which will cause problems.
Yes EmberAttack can be used as a First Flush where the Watergate Valve is left in place for the first 5 minutes of rain with the side drain plugs removed allowing the dirty roof water to drain away before the Watergate Valve is removed for clean water to enter the tanks.
It's not the fire that destroys most homes. It's the invisible ember attack that rains down kilometres ahead of the blaze. Up to 90% of homes lost in bushfires are destroyed by ember attack - not direct flames.
