EmberAttack Video Installation Guides & Instructions

Simple and cost effective DIY System

The EmberAttack system is designed for homeowners to install themselves, making bushfire protection accessible and affordable. Most installations can be completed in just a few hours with basic tools you likely already own. The EmberAttack Body fits into your existing downpipes using the included joiners, and the patented Watergate valve slides in and out as needed. From connecting hoses to positioning your collection bin and setting up roof sprayers, the whole system is straightforward and achievable for the average homeowner.

The EmberAttack Waterfall Mode is your best protection when water supply is available during a bushfire event. Learn how to activate this powerful defense system. By simply sliding the Watergate valve into your EmberAttack Body, you block the downpipes and flood your gutters until they overflow, creating a protective cascade of water around your entire home's perimeter. This continuous waterfall extinguishes embers before they can ignite your eaves and walls—the vulnerable areas where most bushfire damage begins.

The EmberAttack Spray System recycles your most precious tool during bushfire threat. Learn how to install this powerful defensive system. During peak fire times when water pressure is poor or non-existent, the recirculation system keeps gutters full without overflowing. Water is conserved and recycled continuously from your pre-filled collection bin, avoiding the risk of running out of water when you need it most while protecting your water storage tanks from contamination.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Planes and Helicopters drop water onto your roof?

Yes they do drop water onto your roof and much more. Many fire fighting planes and helicopters during a fire get water from where ever they can. This can include dams, sea water, pools and to improve its effectiveness they add fire retardants to improve the effectiveness of the water. This will damage your tank water supply making it unsafe for you use and having to leave your home until it can be fixed. EmberAttack protects you water supply allowing you to still live in the home after the fire.

Delivery Times

Delivery Australia wide will usually occur within 1 to 4 days.

What is the best location for EmberAttack Sprinkler System?

The Sprinkler system is more suitable where you do not have a permanent water supply and you are on tank water.

If my roof has 2 or more gutters how many EmberAttack do I need?

Your house roof is broken into segments. If your house is an A-Frame style house you will have a gutter on each side of the “A”. Th Gutter on one side may have 2 down pipes and on the other 1 = therefore you will need 3 but only use 2. You will use 2 EmberAttack systems on each side. The side that has 2 downpipes we will block off when needed but we will only run the Waterfall or Sprinkler System on a down pipe on each side otherwise we will get uneven flow which will cause problems.

What is an Ember Attack?

Ember attack is the most common way houses catch fire during bushfires, occurring when wind carries burning debris (embers, twigs, leaves, bark) far ahead of the main fire, lodging in gaps, gutters, or on flammable materials around a home to ignite it, often before the fire front even arrives. These burning fragments can travel kilometres, creating new spot fires and overwhelming properties with multiple ignition points, making defense crucial.

How Ember Attack Works

  • Transport: Strong winds loft embers, sometimes kilometers away, in front of the fire.
  • Accumulation: Embers collect in vulnerable spots like roof gutters, under eaves, around windows, under doors, and in dry leaf litter.
  • Ignition: Once a cluster of embers smolders, the heat builds until flames erupt, igniting the building or surrounding fuel.
  • Entry: They can enter through small gaps, uncovered vents, or break windows, leading to internal fires.
  •

Why It's Dangerous

  • Early & Late Threat: Embers can strike hours before the main fire and persist long after.
  • Unpredictable: They can start fires many streets away from the main blaze.
  • Silent Assault: It's a hidden danger, often more destructive than the main flames.
  •

Protection Measures

  • Install EmberAttack: The EmberAttack sprinkler system helps protect the whole roof and be tailored to suit those difficult areas where embers can collect.
  • Clear Debris: Keep gutters, decks, and yards free of leaves and flammable materials.
  • Seal Gaps: Cover vents and seal gaps around windows, doors, and rooflines.
  • Protect Vulnerabilities: Install ember guards on vents and use metal gutter guards
