My house has come under ember attack during bushfire and it has many roof segments. A roof sprinkler system my neighbours have, doesn’t deal with all segments and issues. Embers can settle under solar panels in corners that normal sprinklers don't get to. With the EmberAttack system you place one sprinkler run on the ridge cap running the full length of the roof and have a seperate run line covering the solar panels and hidden corners - and you do this for each roof segment.
Your house roof is broken into segments. If your house is an A-Frame style house you will have a gutter on each side of the “A”. Th Gutter on one side may have 2 down pipes and on the other 1 = therefore you will need 3 but only use 2. You will use 2 EmberAttack systems on each side. The side that has 2 downpipes we will block off when needed but we will only run the Waterfall or Sprinkler System on a down pipe on each side otherwise we will get uneven flow which will cause problems.
Yes EmberAttack is able to be used to protect my water tanks from soap and cleaning chemicals or just dirty dusty roof water. Major benefit for rural properties is the ability to clean you roof after a dust storm.
The Sprinkler system is more suitable where you do not have a permanent water supply and you are on tank water.
